Back Health Journal

An educational resource for healthcare professionals interested in the subject of Back Pain

The Current Clinical Care (CCC) is the health sciences education platform developed by Health Plexus Ltd. Back Health has been developed in partnership with the Canadian Spine Society — a collaborative body of Canadian neurosurgical and orthopaedic spine surgeons and other spine care professionals with a primary interest in advancing excellence in spine patient care, research and education.

We look at spinal issues from many different aspects; a better understanding of the natural history, the true value of treatment modalities, the place for surgery, and emerging innovations, just to name a few. Our goal is to give frontline practitioners a picture of back care that is comprehensible, practical, and based on the best available evidence. We will address any spine-related topic, support correct practice, and expose worthless or fraudulent techniques. Our board has a wide range of expertise and experience, which allows us to speak with authority on a number of subjects. Dr. Hamilton Hall, Editor-in-Chief

Numerous population wide surveys have confirmed that arthritic disorders that limit mobility are the most important factors in impairing quality of life for older adults. Back pain is one of the key issues limiting mobility, and I applaud HealthPlexus for addressing this very important topic.

Barry J. Goldlist, MD, FRCPC, FACP, AGSF

For clinicians tending to adults, particularly in later years, musculoskeletal mobility issues and persistent pain pose significant challenges. Back pain, especially when unresponsive to basic remedies, greatly impairs function and participation in daily and recreational activities. Offering additional resources for diagnosing and treating such complexities enhances HealthPlexus' clinical support for physicians.

Michael Gordon, MD, MSc, FRCPC, FACP

As a Radiologist and former Family physician, I've witnessed the breadth of lower back pain. Medical training often lacks depth in managing its complexity. A dedicated CME resource on back health is essential for students and practitioners to enhance and maintain skills. Embrace this learning chance. I encourage you to take advantage of this learning opportunity.

D’Arcy Little, MD, CCFP, FRCPC

Testimonials

I have practiced family medicine for 22 years and have gone to many CMEs on mechanical low back pain. This was the most concise and pertinent assessment with relevance to everyday practice. It was much appreciated! Thank you for his refreshing words of wisdom.

DR. P Borger

I have repeated the course since the test and intend to use it for review. I thus hope it will remain available on the internet.

Dr. Wilhelm Spruyt

One of the best online educational programs seen! My first time trial and I loved it!

Dr. Chau Nguyen

Outstanding and practical program, very relevant to Family Physicians.

Dr. Margaret A. Churcher

Time well spent. I paused and went over the 4 different patterns several times to digest and absorb the info. Well done. Kudos to Dr. Hamilton Hall for bringing a manageable working mean for a rather difficult clinical problems which are far too common.
