I am pleased to introduce the last issue for 2014 of the Journal of Current Clinical Care. In this edition, we offer some new topics as well as articles expanding on themes from recent issues.

In their article Passive Straight Leg Raise Test: Definition, Interpretation, Limitations and Utilization, Dr. Hamilton Hall and Greg McIntosh highlight the myths and misunderstandings surrounding the straight leg raise (SLR) test for sciatica.

In his blog Are Evidence-Based Medicine and Anecdotal Medicine at Odds with Each Other?, Dr. Michael Gordon, from the Baycrest Centre of Geriatric Care in Toronto, explains the role of personal stories and experiences and their importance in the interaction and relationship between patient and doctor.

Jacky Lo and Dr. Joseph M. Lam describe Pediatric Diaper Rashes one of the most common skin conditions seen in the pediatric population and can cause significant distress for infants and their families. This article provides an overview of selected common and uncommon diaper eruptions. Having a thorough understanding of various diaper lesions can help rule out more serious conditions, guide treatment and alleviate some of the caregivers' anxiety.

Dr. Pradeep Shenoy and his colleague Curtis M. Marcoux offer Vertigo and Dizziness: A Brief Review. Dizziness is the third most common symptom seen in patients of all age groups who present to emergency departments, outpatient clinics and physicians offices. An overview of the epidemiology, etiology, presentation, diagnosis and treatment of the most common causes of vertigo will be presented, touching on some of the more rare determinants.

Dr. Pradeep Shenoy presents A Case of Recurrent Pyogenic Granuloma of Gingiva. Aetiology factors, clinical presentations and different treatment modalities of this entity are discussed after reviewing the literature.

I hope you add this edition of the Journal to your holiday reading list. Happy Holidays!
